Citadel Maritime Ltd Quality Policy Statement

It is the policy of the management to comply with the terms of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other relevant legislation relating to the provision and maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment. This is brought to the attention of all Maritime employees and contractors.

The company’s specific objectives are:

  • To prevent all injuries in the workplace

  • Develop policies concerning the use and handling of weapons that are the benchmark within the industry.

  • Establish and maintain safe, healthy and environmentally sound working procedures and practices throughout its operations.

  • Ensure appropriate safety equipment and training is available for all employees and to ensure their competence to work safely

Citadel Maritime have developed an in-house QHSE system. This undergoes regular updates and revision to ensure it remains fully compliant with our offshore/ onshore best working practices and HSE legislation.

Successful implementation of this policy requires the wholehearted co-operation of all employees and acceptance by each individual of their responsibility to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of any other persons who may be affected by their action at work.

It is also the responsibility of every employee and contractor to work with care and to observe the job, departmental and on-board safety rules and report to their immediate supervisor any near miss, dangerous occurrence or hazardous condition they may experience or discover. Constant vigilance is necessary to ensure that safety awareness is maintained.
Citadel Maritime recognises and accepts its duty to protect the health and safety of all visitors to the company, including contractors, temporary workers and any members of the public who might be affected by our operations.

The health and safety policy of Citadel Maritime will be continually monitored and updated, particularly when changes in the scale or nature of operations occur.
The management also welcomes ideas that may lead to the prevention of accidents. These should be brought to the attention of immediate supervisors, the safety advisor or the Company Safety Committee via appointed safety representatives. Formal reviews will take place at least every 12 months.

As we continue to strive for higher Health and Safety standards, each of us will have a greater contribution to make.  We are certain that the benefits for us all will make the effort worthwhile.
